He served as Assistant station manager of WBS TV in Uganda and was host of a popular current affairs program "ISSUES AT HAND". He contributed to CNN World Report and was one time recipient of the United States Telecommunications Institute (USTTI) funded scholarship to travel to US and trained at BET news and Howard University in Washington.

In Uganda he worked briefly with the World Bank office in Kampala as a public Information officer in the communications department. He was a Radio presenter at CAPITAL FM Kampala's leading FM radio station four years. Additionally he did media consultancy work for FM radio stations after liberalization of the Uganda media.

Recently Ronnie Mayanja graduated from Boston University with a broadcast Journalism Degree with a minor concentration in International affairs. He has done directed studies on globalization and Africa with Ambassador. Charles Stith, Head of the African Presidential Archives and research center (APARC) at Boston University).

Currently Ronnie Mayanja serves on the UNAA board of directors as one of the Community leaders representing Uganda on the East coast. He is editor in chief for the UNAA Times Magazine a publication for Ugandans in the Diaspora.

Having just finalized an internship at CNN (International desk), Ronnie currently resides in Atlanta Georgia.
